do not grieve, spread the message!

Hamza Yusuf said that if muslims are given one second to speak in the media, what they say most of the time are grief and complaints. He further added, it's different than the prophet (pbuh)'s approach to da'wa. Based on the seerah, he never wasted every oppurtunity that he had when meeting with the kufr leaders of the Quraish, instead he used it to spread and to tell them about Islam. He never made it as a platform to tell how despair his life was because of the oppression by the Quraish who hate the spreading of his message.

Never underestimate the power of the media. Manipulate it to the fullest. The media here are not only referred to television and the newspaper, the internet can also be one of the most influential media. If you have a friendster, facebook etc. account, optimize them to tell people about Islam. Being in Australia has made me realise, the non-muslims really have no idea what islam is besides what they read and watch from the media about muslim terrorism. At least we can help them to have a balance view.
