By Dr. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi
President — The International Union for Muslim Scholars
Some people mistake righteousness and piety with weakness and humiliation . In their view, being a devoted person implies taking a negative position and isolating oneself from the events of life. They have a distorted vision of the morals preached by Islam; for example, they understand submission as tantamount to passivity and fatalism. Humbleness, in this context, is taken to mean accepting oppression and giving up all means and manifestations of strength. Refuting this misconception, Dr. Ysusuf Al-Qaradawi states:
The true concept of Islam has nothing to do with such spiritlessness or weakness. In fact, iman (faith) has always been the source of strength and might, high morals, and strong personality.
Once `Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a man who, while performing Prayer, was totally withdrawn and dispirited, as if coming from among the dead. `Umar reacted angrily to such attitude and said to the man, “Do not incorporate into our religious rites aspects of death. Submissiveness is that of the heart not of appearance.”
`Umar was famous for his saying “O Allah! I seek refuge in You from fake submissiveness.” People said, “What is fake submissiveness?” `Umar replied, “To have a humble body, but not a humble heart.” Ash-Shifa’ bint `Abdullah saw some youth walking listlessly, so she asked, “Who are those people?” “They are ascetics,” was the answer. She commented, “`Umar, though a real ascetic, used to walk quickly, speak loudly, and hit severely,” indicating that he was strong.
While being the example of modesty and humbleness, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to walk quickly as if coming down from a hill. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) described him: “I have never seen a person with a countenance more beautiful than that of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as if sun was shining in his face. I have never seen a person quicker in pace than him, as if land is folded before his feet.”.

Eid Celebration on Syawal 4
Khas buat Ainee.. the cake i bake
I really love Eid this year. Probably this is the last chance for me to celebrate it overseas. Sad that it's the last. All I know is I'm going to miss this so much. The atmosphere is so different compared to celebrating it in Malaysia. Rym said that in her home country, Eidulfitr is more about eating sweets while in Malaysia it is about serving all kinds of different foods. That's why most of the shops opened in Lakemba on that day were only bakery shops. Even the way the takbir was uttered (Lakemba Mosque) was also different. It sounded more like celebrating a victory and not so melancholic like the way that I had always heard. And to see people from all walks of life regardless of their age, race, colour and gender all got together for the prayer really shows that Allah does what He wills. He made people leave their home to praise him. Beautiful indeed if the Ummah is always unites not only during Eid prayer, but all the time.
I miss to celebrate Eid in Malaysia, but I also love the celebration here. I guess tidak melampau kalau dikatakan this is the first time I understand about the hakikat sambutan 1 Syawal itu. Insya-Allah.
Only Allah knows.

I love how Khalid Amayreh, the writer for palestine-info who is now in occupied Jerusalem, commenting and giving his own views and opinions on Zionist occupation of Palestine. Factual, accurate and honest. And also threateaning to the enemies.
These questions and other remarks made by the young Iranian leader shocked Israel's fanatical supporters and apologists in the US who, predictably, resorted to name-calling, personal attacks and red-herring tactics aimed at vilifying the elected president of 72 million people and diverting attention from Zionist savagery and brutality in Palestine. If anything, the vile response was a clarion testimony to the intellectual bankruptcy of Zionism.
Indeed, instead of objectively and honestly relating to Ahmadinejad’s logical remarks about Israel’s Gestapo-like tactics against the helpless Palestinians, Zionist leaders from Israeli-occupied Jerusalem to Israeli-occupied Congress were caught off balance by the audacity and shocking veracity of the Iranian leader’s speech."

Go under the 'comment' section. That's where most of his views are. It's best to read from someone who is actually there witnessing the real things.
Makanan 5 thumbs-up! Yang paling saya suka air. Air cikang yang berais. Padahal hari tu batuk-batuk. Kesannya batuk semakin melarat.
That's always the case. Really.
Orang Melayu individulistik." We mean kommunistik.
